FAQS
Questions about what it’s like to work together?
Here are some of the most common questions I get from clients about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.
-
I’m in Prairie Village, Kansas, and work with clients online throughout the states of Kansas and Missouri.
-
It’s just like in-person therapy, except in the comfort of your own home! A link to the telehealth session will be sent to you via email and text once an appointment is scheduled. Simply click the link at the time of your appointment and we can begin!
-
Yes. After our initial telehealth session, in-person is an option at my Prairie Village office. Most clients prefer a hybrid therapy schedule where they mainly see me online and occasionally in person.
-
$150 per 45-50 minute individual session.
I’m an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance.
-
An intake session is a 45-50 minute appointment with your provider to get to know you and what goals you have for therapy.
-
Length of therapy varies by client and depends on goals set in therapy. Typically clients see me weekly for 8-10 sessions, then go biweekly, monthly, and do occasional check-in or maintenance appointments throughout the year as needed.
-
Late Cancellation is defined within 24 hours of your session at the time your session is scheduled to begin. Any late cancellations or no-shows will result in full fee payment for the missed session.
Varady Counseling Services understands that sometimes things are out of our control or emergency situations happen that will result in a missed appointment. Due to this, one free pass for a missed appointment will be given each year when these unexpected circumstances occur.

No, I work with all people of all gender identities. However, I take a feminist approach regardless, meaning I acknowledge how systemic, institutional, and cultural norms can negatively affect all of us in my practice. The men I work with are often dealing with the negative effects of toxic masculinity and usually feel a lot of shame around their emotions.

If it is an emergency please go to the nearest hospital, call 911, or the suicide hotline 988. Varady Counseling Services is unable to respond to urgent or emergency situations outside of business hours. If you’d like to reach Rebecca, please send an email and she will respond within 2 business days.

On January 1, 2022, congress enacted a "No Surprises Act", which is a "new federal protection against surprise medical bills that take effect in 2022. Surprise medical bills arise when insured consumers inadvertently receive care from out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or other providers they did not choose". Under the law, healthcare providers, including mental health providers, must give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for services.
Varady Counseling Services believes in honesty and transparency. There will never be any surprise fees as you will be clearly informed of the cost per session before our first appointment. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rebecca regarding charges, fees, or any questions related to billing.
